Building her correctly requires understanding how she interacts with her memo sprite, Evey, and managing specific resource stacks known as Memoria.

Optimizing an Evernight build involves balancing her massive HP requirements with an aggressive Critical Damage ceiling. Because her kit provides significant internal buffs, reaching her peak performance is more about hitting specific stat thresholds than simply stacking random offensive sub-stats.

Core mechanics and the Evey synergy

Evernight functions as a summon-based DPS. When she enters battle, she brings Evey onto the field. Evey acts independently with a high base speed (starting at 160) and inherits a portion of Evernight's Max HP. The primary damage output comes from Evey’s "Dream, Dissolving, as Dew" ability, which triggers once Evernight accumulates 16 or more points of Memoria.

Memoria is generated whenever Evernight or Evey loses HP or uses skills. This makes her exceptionally compatible with characters who drain ally health or teams that face aggressive enemies. During her Ultimate state, "Darkest Riddle," the Memoria generation is accelerated, and both Evernight and Evey gain massive DMG boosts and CC immunity. The relic landscape for Remembrance characters is specialized. Mixing and matching general sets often leads to suboptimal results.

4-Piece: World-Remaking Deliverer

This is the definitive Best-in-Slot (BiS) set for Evernight. The 2-piece bonus offers a slight Crit Rate bump, but the 4-piece effect is where the value lies. It grants a 24% HP increase when Evey is on the field and provides a team-wide 15% DMG boost. Given that Evey is almost always present, this set offers nearly 100% uptime on its powerful buffs.

2-Piece: Bone Collection's Serene Demesne

For Planar Ornaments, Bone Collection's Serene Demesne outperforms other options due to its synergy with high-HP pools. It provides a 12% HP increase and, more importantly, a 28% Crit DMG boost if the wearer’s HP exceeds 5,000. Since a well-built Evernight will double that HP requirement, this is a free, permanent stat boost.

Alternative: Arcadia of Woven Dreams

Arcadia is a viable alternative if you are running a "Mono-Remembrance" team (four characters of the Remembrance path). However, its damage scaling is conditional on the number of allies. If you frequently swap in Nihility or Harmony supports, stick to Bone Collection for more consistent performance.

Your choice of Light Cone will dictate how easily you hit your stat targets.

  1. To Evernight’s Stars (Signature S1): This is the gold standard. It provides a 30% HP boost and allows Evey to ignore 20% of the enemy's DEF. In the current meta, DEF ignore is the most valuable multiplier for clearing high-level MoC or Pure Fiction stages.
  2. Make Farewells More Beautiful (Castorice’s Signature): If you happen to have a spare copy of Castorice's Light Cone, it is a formidable second choice. It also offers 30% HP and a DEF shred mechanic triggered by HP fluctuations.
  3. The Flower Remembers (4-Star Battle Pass): For low-spenders, this is a reliable option. It focuses purely on Crit DMG for both the wearer and the memo sprite. While it lacks the defensive utility of the 5-star options, it keeps Evernight’s damage competitive.
  4. Sweat Now, Cry Less (4-Star alternative): Useful if you are struggling to hit your Crit Rate targets, as it offers a 12% boost and increases Evey’s raw DMG.

Evernight thrives in an ecosystem of Remembrance units, but she can be adapted into hypercarry shells if necessary.

The Remembrance Trailblazer offers additional Crit DMG to all memo sprites, while Hyacine ensures the team’s HP doesn't drop too low while providing necessary HP-cap buffs.

The F2P-Friendly Setup

  • Main DPS: Evernight
  • Support: Remembrance Trailblazer
  • Support: Pela or Silver Wolf
  • Sustain: Lynx or Gallagher

If you lack premium Remembrance supports, Pela is an excellent substitute. Her AoE DEF shred stacks multiplicatively with Evernight’s signature light cone effects. Lynx is a surprisingly good sustain choice here because her skill increases the Max HP of the target, directly buffing Evernight’s damage output.

Trace priority and eidolons

When leveling Evernight, prioritize her Talent (With Me, This Night) and Ultimate (O Wakeful World, Good Night). Her talent controls the Crit DMG scaling and Memoria generation, which are the engines of her kit. Her Skill should be leveled next to ensure Evey stays healthy and the Crit DMG buffs for other memo sprites remain high. Basic Attack is the lowest priority.

Investment Value: Is E2 worth it?

Evernight is perfectly functional at E0S0, but her E2 is widely considered one of the most powerful stopping points for vertical investment.

  • E1: Provides a final DMG multiplier for all memo sprites.
  • E2: This is the game-changer. It increases the Memoria stack gain and allows Evernight to stay in the "Darkest Riddle" state for significantly longer. It effectively removes the "downtime" in her rotation, making her feel like a permanent powerhouse.

Practical gameplay tips

To maximize your Evernight build in actual combat, pay attention to the Memoria count (the number displayed on her character icon). You generally want to use your Ultimate right before Evey takes an action if you are at 14 or 15 stacks. This ensures Evey’s massive nuke benefits from the "Darkest Riddle" damage multipliers and the enemy vulnerability debuff.

Additionally, because Evernight is an Ice-element character, she excels at freezing enemies. Even though she is not a Preservation unit, her high HP pool allows her to act as a secondary tank. Positioning her in the center of the team (slots 2 or 3) can be beneficial, as it allows her to soak up splash damage from enemies, which in turn triggers more Memoria stacks through HP loss.
